I had to take Chandler with me to my appointment as I do most times. They go pretty smoothly if we are in and out but any waiting is just asking for trouble. We only waited about 10 minutes in the exam room but it felt like an hour to me. I had to take everything off from the waist down as the Dr. was going to check me today. I had my nice little sheet covering me up and sat on the exam table. Chandler proceeded to do everything he shouldn't do while in the room. He jumped up on the dr.'s chair and started kicking the wall, leaving nice black marks from his snowboots. He finally got down after I yelled at him a couple times and looked around at what else he could do. He figured out that the exam table to could move up and down with some foot pedals on the floor. I was trying to keep him away from that & keep myself decent at the same time. He then went into the bathroom and started flushing the toilet and playing in the toilet water. We washed his hands and I shut the door to the bathroom. By now, my "covering sheet" has a bunch of different rips in it and it's only been 5 minutes! I sit back on the table, anticipating the dr. any minute when I notice Chandler getting into his squatting position. Yes, he decided he needed to poop. I must admit he is a very regular boy and I change 3-4 poopy diapers a day so I shouldn't have been surprised by this. The small room started to stink really quickly so once again I jumped off the table, we went into the bathroom & I changed his diaper. That's embarassing - a nice strong poo smell to welcome the dr. when he comes into the room, ugh. Once I was back up on the table, Dr. Barton(thank goodness!) He asked if I wanted my membranes stripped if my cervix was soft enough. I was all for it. I was really disappointed but not too surprised when he said it wasn't favorable enough. Still closed, thick & high. I wanted to cry after leaving the dr.'s office. I know our little guy will be here soon enough, I'm just scared that I'll have to have a repeat c-section because I'll never go into labor. Thankfully Marshall will be coming with us to our appointment next week. I'm hoping there will be no appointment next week though....

Oh, Tiff, I feel for you. Having just been there, I know how hard it is to be patient with the last few weeks of pregnancy. Hang in there. It can't last too much longer. And when they get here, you forget that you were mad at them for not coming sooner. Good luck.
Sherrie
I've been there too. Waiting that last few weeks is the worst! Find something you HAVE to get done before the baby gets here, and guaranteed he will be here before you finish. Thats how they work. Good luck, and PLEASE take your computer to the hospital! I want to see pictures ASAP! :-)
Sorry I am going to play the devil's advocate on this one. Be glad he isn't here yet - you have your hands VERY full with Chandler right now. Enjoy the last few days of only having one poopy butt to change. I don't envy you at all. I agree with Camille take this time to get some things done that you have been putting on the back burner. You have the opportunity to get all your Christmas put away & your house clean before he comes! :)
I'm sorry the Dr. didn't strip your membranes. Hang in there! Have you started running stairs yet?? LOL. I have to say Claire pooped at the dr.'s office and then again at the next appt with the same doctor and I wasn't about to appologize for the smell~ so who knows what he was thinking! Fun times. Hope you have a baby in your arms the next time I see you.
I hope you have your baby before the next appointment comes. I hate waiting at the end (but would've waited longer this last time for sure). P.S. It is a blessing-in-disguise that Barton didn't strip your membranes. He stripped mine once and it was the most painful experience EVER (I think because his hands we shaking, as usual.) Have Dr. Crouch do it - I didn't feel a thing the time he did it.
I was laughing so hard while reading your office story. That same EXACT scenerio played out at one of my appointments here in Texas, the only difference is that the office I go to does not have bathrooms inside each room so I had to change Dean on one of the chairs. I was hurrying like crazy because if the Doctor would have walked in, he would have seen both me and Dean there with our butts hanging out since I had to drop my robe to use both hands. In my panic and rush, I DROPPED Dean's poopy Diaper face-down on the floor. GREAT! Now I had to hurry and bend my bare-butt down to clean THAT mess up!
Wow, that was a BAD day. :o) The lengths Mom's will go to, huh? Just think, soon you will have all that times two!
the last couple of weeks really suck. I know all too well. Remember when you came to stay with me the last two weeks I was pregnant with Charlise and I was huge and fat and swollen?!
It feels like an eternity, but I am with Avry, enjoy your time with just one and having only one poopy diaper right now.
I had my membranes stripped with both girls and it didn't do a darn thing. If I had to do things differently again, I wouldn't have been induced with Charlise even thought she was two days over.
Hang in there and keep yourself busy.
You don't have much time left, he's got to come sooner or later.
